In 2011 the global population surpassed 7 billon people. I have often thought about what impact so many people has on the planet. What resources are required to sustain this number, and if the worlds resources were evenly shared amongst everyone on the planet, how much would life differ for the lucky people like me who live in a rich country like Australia, or the desperately poor living in developing countries.
Here is a scene from a documentary called Samsara. Using some mesmerising footage and not a single spoken word, it goes some way to showing the impact so many people can have on the planet, and the most important resource needed to sustain life. Food.
